
John Staddon is James B. Duke Professor of Psychology, and Professor of Biology Emeritus, at Duke University. A native of England, he has studied and conducted research in several countries including Australia, Brazil, Mexico, and Germany. His earned a doctorate in Experimental Psychology at Harvard University and is the author of more than 200 research papers and books.
His book, The Englishman, Memoirs of Psychologist, details his early years in wartime London, his academic career and his diverse interests on public policy topics such as IQ and education, traffic control, smoking and health policy and economic behavior and market dynamics. The second edition of the book will be available in May 2026 published by Alazar Press of Carrboro, NC.
