Welcome

Why Torch Club?

Torch Clubs provide a forum where people from different professions and interests can meet in a friendly and enjoyable setting. We enjoy good fellowship while eating an excellent meal followed by a paper and discussion.

The paper is the main focus of the club meeting. The presenter is often a club member, speaking on a topic of special interest to that person, although outside speakers may be invited. Following the talk, the speaker engages in lively exchanges with members, further exploring the ideas.

To maintain a neutral forum, Torch Clubs are solely devoted to the intellectual exchange of ideas. They do not get involved with causes or fund-raising for outside projects. Torch Clubs do not promote political or social causes nor participate in civic projects. These valuable functions are left to other organizations to which Torch members belong.

Where and When do we Meet?

We meet in person at The Croasdaile Country Club, 3800 Farm Gate Avenue, Durham, NC 27705, every Third Wednesday at 6:00, September to May, subject to change. Join at 6:00 to mingle. Our meal is served at 6:30, and the meeting presentation starts at 7:30 PM and generally lasts 1 hour, including Q&A.
